History of NYLPI's Environmental Justice Project

The Environmental Justice Project has evolved over time, from its 1990 precursor - a project studying Charter revision - to its current incarnation. Over the years, the Project has engaged in campaigns across New York City, from the South Bronx to East New York to Red Hook. The Project's evolution has mirrored (and assisted) the birth and growth of New York City's environmental justice movement, from solitary, isolated campaigns to unified, citywide movements for social change.
