Environmental Justice, News, Waste Equity

As New York City reopens, NYLPI Director of Policy Justin Wood calls for solid waste reforms to get the City’s Zero Waste and equity goals back on track.

On the Center for New York City Affairs’ Urban Matters blog, Wood writes that with COVID-related budget cuts and programming delays, 2020 was a retreat from the de Blasio administration’s waste reduction and social equity goals – but immediate solutions to this setback are at hand. He lays out four policy reforms that local legislators should enact to make progress toward equity, sustainability, and green job creation in our sprawling solid waste system.

See his full list of reforms on the Urban Matters blog here.
