Crain’s New York covered the landmark suit filed against the NYPD by NYLPI and Co-Counsel for violent and discriminatory responses to mental health crises. The class-action lawsuit represents a coalition of New Yorkers with mental disabilities who have been injured and involuntarily hospitalized while in crisis. The coalition includes NYLPI, Beldock Levine & Hoffman LLP, Marashi Legal, Shearman and Sterling LLP, Community Access, Correct Crisis Intervention Today – NYC (CCIT-NYC), and National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City
