The Opportunity & Access Program strives, in partnership with individuals and communities, to achieve equality of opportunity, dignity and independence for people with disabilities in New York City, with a focus on eliminating barriers facing underserved communities. In order to affect the greatest change, we use all legal tools at our disposal, including litigation, legislative advocacy, individual and group representation, consumer training and community organizing. Our major areas of focus include equal access to health care, housing, employment, public transportation, businesses, voting and police protection.
