Doctors on Call: Telehealth and Accessibility During COVID-19March 9, 2022
New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) released Doctors on Call: Telehealth and Accessibility During COVID-19, a report documenting the results of a survey of New Yorkers who have used telehealth services during COVID-19.
The report highlights New Yorkers’ experiences with telehealth at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and concludes that while people with disabilities benefitted from access to telehealth, there are significant problems with its accessibility. The report highlights current proposals to expand telehealth and includes recommendations to overcome its accessibility barriers and improve the telehealth experience for all patients.
NYLPI, with Christina Sparrock, Mental Health Advocate, Correct Crisis Intervention Today New York City (CCIT-NYC), Jose Hernandez, NYC Spinal Chapter President, and other advocacy groups, created the telehealth accessibility survey in furtherance of the goals of our Medical Access campaign.
