NYLPI collaborated with Nonprofit New York on a half-day summit, “Let’s Talk About SPACE, 2023 & Beyond,” held at the Ford Foundation on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

The event included representatives from NYC Accelerator, Paul Weiss, Denham Wolf, Hester Street and The Wright Group and was sponsored by OPEN Impact Real Estate and Capell Barnett Matalon Schoenfeld.

The first panel featured Kyra Armstrong, NYLPI staff attorney, Environmental Justice, and Anthony Karefa Rogers-Wright, NYLPI director of Environmental Justice, and explained how non-profits will be impacted by the implementation of mandated climate objectives, specifically, Local Law 97.

The second panel, moderated by McGregor Smyth, NYLPI Executive Director, highlighted how non-profits are responding to the current real-estate market, and provided recommendations for how they can more efficiently use the space to serve their mission.

The third panel featured Larisa Wick from The Wright Group and explained how organizations can use capital funding to achieve their infrastructure and real-estate goals.
