Representing Immigrants with Disabilities: An Introduction to Disability and its Impact on Immigrant Populations

NYLPI joins NYIC and International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) for a virtual training on the intersection of disability and immigration.

This session provides a comprehensive introduction to understanding disability from a rights-based perspective. Participants will gain valuable insights into the following key areas: 

Rights-Based Approach: Understand disability, rights-based  perspectives, and the principles of accessibility and accommodation. 

Displacement and Migration: Learn about the experiences of displacement, migration, and seeking asylum for people with disabilities.

Practical Application: Gain practice pointers for interacting and  working effectively with people with disabilities 

*CLE credit will be available. 

*ASL Interpretation and Captioning will be available.
