Have you signed a residential lease in New York State since March 2, 2021? Take this survey!

We need your help completing a brief (8-question) survey. We are seeking information from people who have signed residential leases in New York State any time after March 2, 2021.

The purpose of this survey is to help NYLPI monitor the impact of New York State’s “Disclosure Law.” NYLPI plans to use the survey results to publish a report, which will allow NYLPI to advocate for better enforcement of the rights of tenants with disabilities.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact us at (212) 244-4664 or send us an email at [email protected].

Please feel free to share this information far and wide.

WHO IS THE SURVEY FOR?

Any residential tenant who has signed a lease in New York State anytime since March 2, 2021.

WHAT IS NEW YORK STATE’S DISCLOSURE LAW?

The “Disclosure of Disabled Tenants’ Rights” law (N.Y. Exec. Law Section 170-D), or “Disclosure Law,” provides important rights to all tenants. This law requires that landlords in New York State give their tenants clear and written notice of their right to reasonable accommodations and modifications for disabilities. Landlords are largely required to give this written notice to all their tenants in all new and all renewal leases.
