LAST CALL: No New Fossil Gas Plant in Queens!

September 9, 2021

Environmental Justice, News

A gray power plant sits in front of a bright blue sky.

Let the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation know you want clean energy – for clean air, better health, and to help address our climate crisis. NRG’s corporate proposal to burn more fossil fuels in Astoria, Queens (part of so-called “Asthma Alley”) doesn’t square with New York’s commitment to reach zero emissions by 2040. NRG’s Astoria Replacement Project takes our state in the wrong direction; it doubles down on polluting environmental justice communities like Astoria. Take action with the PEAK Coalition, and submit your comment to the DEC now!

The deadline for public comment is September 13th.
