NYLPI and Academy of Medical & Public Health Services Launch COVID-19 Story Collection Campaign in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

December 17, 2020

Coronavirus, Health Justice, News

As COVID-19 cases and deaths surge around the country and New Yorkers grapple with a second wave, NYLPI and the Academy of Medical & Public Health Services (AMPHS) continue to focus on the experiences and needs of local communities. Following two Sunset Park Virtual Town Halls this Fall, the Story Collection Campaign launched on December 16th with an online survey.

The confidential survey, which is available online in Chinese, English, and Spanish, allows community members to type their anecdotes directly into the form, upload a photo, audio, or video file from their device, or request to have NYLPI and AMPHS’ staff call them to directly record their story.

With the launch of the COVID-19 Story Collection Campaign in Sunset Park, NYLPI and AMPHS hope to build a tool for community power centered on the needs and voices of this historically excluded community.

The survey can be completed here.
