“I’m so pleased to welcome Lorraine McGowen as the new NYLPI Board Chair,” said current Board Chair, partner at Jenner & Block, and City Bar President Susan Kohlmann. “Lorraine has been a highly engaged leader on our board, and her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to NYLPI’s mission is extraordinary. I am confident in our future and in Lorraine’s leadership as we continue to grow and expand our impact.”
McGowen brings a wealth of experience as a NYLPI Board member and Executive Committee member for over a decade, a leading restructuring partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, and a respected advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the legal profession.
“I’m grateful for Susan’s leadership and humbled to take on the Chair role following her tenure. I am excited to help drive the organization’s continued growth and evolution and look forward to working with my fellow Directors and the entire NYLPI team to expand our reach in the years ahead. NYLPI’s work in partnership with communities to dismantle racism and achieve health, disability, immigrant, and environmental justice could not be more important in these times of growing challenge.”
