Representatives from NY Renews march through Times Square holding a banner that reads "Think Global, Act Hochul"

On November 13, NYLPI joined scores of climate activists and advocacy groups in a march to Governor Hochul’s office to demand climate justice now. The turnout was massive, with hundreds filling Times Square to join in calling upon New York leaders to equitably and swiftly implement the state’s climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and fully fund that law by passing the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA).

This Climate Day of Action brought thousands of New York residents together across New York City, Albany, and Rochester. The NY Renews Coalition is building a united grassroots movement to demand action on the climate crisis. We hope you will join us in continuing to urge our legislature and new Governor that the Climate and Community Investment Act must be a top line priority for when they convene in January and pass in the 2022 budget.

The Climate Day of Action was covered by CBS, NBC, ABC, Spectrum News, and more outlets statewide.
