NYLPI Submits Comprehensive Recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Executive Budget to the New York City Council

Justin Wood, director of Policy at NYLPI, submitted NYLPI’s comprehensive comment on the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed Executive Budget to the New York City Council.

Recommendations include detailed data and suggestions on funding the following areas of focus:

  • fully funding the City Council’s Immigrant Health Initiative, to improve services in NYLPI programs such as Transplant Equity, UnDocucare and Health in Detention
  • utilizing the proposed allocations for B-HEARD to fund the CCIT-NYC non-police mental health crisis response system, improving and saving lives
  • targeting the New York Department of Buildings staff towards effective and affordable Local Law 97 implementation to make for a cleaner and safer City
