NYLPI Supports Legislation to Protect Adult Care Facility Residents

NYLPI co-signed a memorandum of support for A.196C / S.1576C, legislation that would put crucial protections in place for the 50,000 seniors and people with disabilities who reside at Adult Care Facilities (ACF) and their families. The bill outlines three situations that harm and/or endanger residents that would result in a regulatory violation and fine. Strengthening these regulations would improve conditions of ACFs and reduce harm caused by health and safety violations, financial abuse, and violation of residents’ rights.
