NYLPI Supports Sunset Park Community Health Event & Records Children’s COVID-19 StoriesOctober 7, 2021
The Sunset Park COVID19 Story Collection Project, a partnership between NYLPI and AMPHS to record the experiences of the community during this public health crisis, featured a children’s story collection station at the community event. Sunset Park’s youngest community members shared their thoughts and experiences through colorful drawings and short paragraphs. The Sunset Park COVID19 Story Collection Project aims to amplify the voices of community members who have been directly impacted by COVID19, including children.
NYLPI’s station at “Road to Recovery” also provided information on the Excluded Worker’s Fund (EWF), including our Spanish language guide on how to apply for funding along with information about access to medical services for undocumented New Yorkers.
NYLPI’s Health Justice team continues to work closely with community members to support community lead efforts to advance health access and health equity in neighborhoods that were severely impacted by the COVID19 pandemic. NYLPI and our partners are committed to ensuring access to vaccines and healthcare for all New Yorkers.
