Last week, NYLPI’s Senior Advocate and Social Worker Paola Martinez-Boone co-chaired a panel for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) on Transition Planning for Students with Intellectual Disabilities.

Sponsored by the New York City Bar Association’s Education and the Law Committee, this CLE explored:

  • The Rights of Students and the Duties of School Districts under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and NY’s Education Law
  • Challenges in the Transition Process at the School District Level
  • NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) – Adult and Children Services
  • Other State Agencies – Adult and Children Services
