The #SaveTransit coalition, a group of transit advocates including NYLPI and Riders Alliance, was instrumental in winning nearly $15 billion from the federal government to save public transit in New York City in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coalition partners and member leaders organized in New York and with rider groups from across the country to build a new, national rider organizing movement.

Together, riders secured $15 billion during the most critical time for New York City as part of a $70 billion national investment in public transit. #SaveTransit showed the power riders have when they organize together toward a common goal.
