Suhali Méndez Gives Two Presentations on Housing Accommodations for People with Disabilities

Suhali Méndez, Senior Advocate in NYLPI’s Disability Justice Program, presented on the topic of Housing Accommodations for People with Disabilities and their families on Thursday, December 2 through a Zoom meeting hosted by P141K Parent Association. P141K is a Brooklyn-based District 75 school which is a specialized school district that works with disabled children.

The presentation was attended by parents and the goal is for parents and other caregivers to learn more about their rights for accessible housing for their families and the laws that cover these rights.

Méndez presented again on Tuesday, December 7 through a Zoom meeting hosted by Hope and Victory Evolves (HAVE) and P211X Parent Association in the Bronx.

HAVE is a community-based organization located in the Bronx. P211X is a community school located in the Bronx and the presentation was part of their Resource Awareness Workshop: Housing and Rental Assistance. The presentation was attended by parents and the goal is for parents and other caregivers to learn more about their rights for accessible housing for their families and the laws that cover these rights.
