
Michelle Kraus
Senior Social Worker
Michelle Kraus is the Coordinator of Intake for the Disability Justice Program at NYLPI. She provides intake and advocacy services for adults with disabilities. Michelle received her master’s degree in Social Work in 1995 from Columbia University. In 2006, she completed the clinical externship program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, a leading family therapy institute in NYC. Michelle has presented at different conferences about working with clients who present with difficult behaviors and effective outreach to underserved communities. In 2013, she was the recipient of the legal services award given by the New York City Bar Association. Prior to joining NYLPI in 2004, Michelle provided direct service and supervised clinical staff working with families around the issues of permanency planning, illness and loss.
