Senior Advocate and Special Education Coordinator
Paola Martinez-Boone is a Senior Advocate and Special Education Coordinator at NYLPI. She has worked at NYLPI for 20 years, the last 18 as an advocate for the Disability Justice Program. As community organizer, Paola worked on the Language Access Campaign to ensure that limited English proficient individuals received care and materials in their language. As a special education advocate, she has worked on individual cases defending the rights of students with disabilities to a Free Appropriate Public Education. Paola participates in various NYC's councils for individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. She promotes community outreach, community integration, and advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities. Mrs. Martinez-Boone received a M.S.W. from Fordham University.
