Tell The Public Service Commission: No New Fossil Fuel-Burning Power in Astoria, Queens
July 12, 2021Climate and Energy Justice, Environmental Justice, News
Let the New York State Public Service Commission know New Yorkers want clean energy – for clean air, better health, and to help address our climate crisis. The corporate proposal for new fossil-fuel burning power in Astoria, Queens, doesn’t square with New York’s commitment to reaching zero-emissions by 2040.
The Astoria Repowering Project threatens local environmental justice communities and takes us in the wrong direction. Take action with NYLPI and our PEAK Coalition partners: Use your voice to help dismantle environmental racism and advocate for a safer and cleaner New York City.
